Kidnappers Lane, Cheltenham

9 affordable homes have been built on the Newland homes development on Kidnappers Lane, Leckhampton. Two of the properties are for shared ownership and the remaining 7 homes are designated for affordable rent. The homes were completed in two stages in December 2023 and February 2024.

Shurdington Road

5 affordable homes were built as part of the Hillfort Place development on Shurdington Road. Developed in partnership with Kendrick Homes, the new properties were completed in October 2023.

Brockhampton Lane

The new development was completed in partnership with local 5* developer, Cotswold Homes. The 7 homes were completed in November 2021.

Monkscroft Villas

This exciting project created 27 new homes on the site of three homes on Princess Elizabeth way and provided a mix of homes for social rent and shared ownership which were completed in May 2021.

Ingleborough Mews

Completed in December 2020 to provide 8 new affordable homes for rent.

Cordwainers Road

3 affordable homes completed in partnership with local developer, Newland Homes, as part of a wider scheme providing a total of 33 new homes.

320 Swindon Road – 24 homes

We took ownership of the site in 2022 and the demolition of the former redundant farm house and outbuildings has been completed.

Planning consent has been secured for 24 affordable homes at 320 Swindon Road for social rent and shared ownership. This includes:

• 12 x one bed flats
• 5 x two bed flats
• 6 x two bed houses
• 1 x three bed house

The project is currently out for tender, which means we’re inviting bids from contractors to carry out the construction work for the 24 affordable homes on this site.

The homes will include renewable technologies such as ground and air source heat pumps, solar power and electric car charging together with an efficient building fabric.

We expect work to start later in the year.

Former Monkscroft School site

Between 60 and 70 new, affordable homes could form part of a thriving new community, at the former Monkscroft School site. Cheltenham Borough Council bought the land in support of its ambition to deliver £180m investment in quality, local homes. Our intention is for the homes to be available for social rental and shared ownership, helping to reduce the number of people waiting for an affordable home in Cheltenham.

The work directly supports Cheltenham Borough Council’s key priority to increase the supply of housing and create more sustainable communities, and Cheltenham Borough Homes’s priority to provide great homes to make Cheltenham a better place to live.

The homes are being designed with a sustainable, low carbon ambition to help meet the borough-wide 2030 carbon neutral goal. For future customers, this means a better living environment, cleaner air quality and a reduction in energy bills.

The development will help to regenerate a currently unused site and bring life to the existing neighbourhood, along with boosting local economic recovery.
