Cheltenham Borough Homes invests £1.5m in new homes for affordable rent on new development at Brockhampton Lane, Cheltenham, on behalf of the council.
The new occupiers of the properties secured under a Section 106 agreement from local developer, Cotswold Homes, are getting settled in. Yet another example of the £180m housing investment in Cheltenham’s future, made possible by Cheltenham Borough Council and delivered by Cheltenham Borough Homes.
The three, two bed four person houses, and two, three bed houses for affordable rent; and two, two-bedroom homes for shared ownership, also known as ‘part buy, part rent’, which could ultimately see the home owned entirely by the shared owner, are a direct outcome of Cheltenham Borough Council’s key priority to increase the supply of housing and investing to build resilient communities.
Steve Slater, CEO, Cheltenham Borough Homes said: “The amazing homes delivered at Apple Blossom Drive are another way we are supporting the council to provide homes across a variety of tenures. These properties will provide quality homes for those looking for affordable rent or for the opportunity to own their own home and have been delivered by a great local developer, Cotswold Homes.”
Councillor Mike Collins, Cabinet member for housing, Cheltenham Borough Council added: “It’s great to be working with a private sector partner to make more homes available as part of the significant housing investment in Cheltenham. The fabulous new homes acquired via a Section 106 agreement working in partnership with Cotswold Homes are going to make great homes.”
The seven properties form part of a wider scheme which has provided a further 10 homes for outright sale via Cotswold Homes. For Cheltenham Borough Homes and the council these properties follow the completion of a further 38 new homes provided on three other sites within the last 12 months at Ingleborough Mews, Cordwainers Road, and Radford Court.
